Making music videos is one thing, but broadcasting them is another. There are a number of outlets that production companies use to promote, market and advertise the music videos and the artist.
Music Channels

DVD and CD Sales
Music videos can also be sold on DVDs. Sometimes there is a special promotional pack including the soundtrack (e.g. during the Christmas season). Some CD albums put music videos on as an extra DVD to play, which gives the songs more recognition.
CD sales are increasing through use of online sales such as iTunes and Spotify. However, unlike the use of TV and online usage [where music videos are free to watch] iTunes sell a music video to users from around £1.00 - £2.50, which help pay for new music videos.
